We’ve been busy kegging and canning at our new packaging facility near Ivybridge. Under the watchful eye of Devon based Vigo Ltd, Salcombe Pilsner went into our own kegs, ready to be delivered to our lovely customers. Then it was time to use the canning machine for its first run. Again, we packaged Salcombe Pilsner into 330ml cans, an incredibly exciting process and we are chuffed with the final product!
The first lager to join the Salcombe Brewery family uses the finest British malt and has a delicate floral and herbal aroma, derived from the noble Czech and German hops. The gentle malt flavour complements the bittersweet palate, culminating in a crisp dry finish. ABV: 5.4%
So, what inspired our new design? As you know, we are immensely proud of our local surroundings and stunning coastlines. The new pilsner label imitates one of the many fishing boats down in the harbour. The bright blue colouring represents the crystal blue waters of the Salcombe Ria. SE516 could easily be a boat registered in our local harbour as SE is Salcombe’s code and the 516 is for the day that Salcombe Brewery started – May 2016. We can’t wait to hear what you all think.
You can grab a pint of Salcombe Pilsner down the pub, such as at The Agricultural Inn, Exeter, No. 5 Exeter and many more or we have a limited stock available in can from now. We’ll have lots more back very soon!
